Technical Business Analyst / Application Developer

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst / Application Developer with a proven record of being able to step through the code base, and troubleshoot and resolve customer issues. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to fine tune your development skills while learning our code base.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, develop/code, test, modify, implement and support programs or systems, including in-house developed or purchased applications
  • Work closely with IT and business teams to gather information and answer questions
  • Research, gather, articulate, refine and document business/technical requirements
  • Translate and safeguard business requirements
  • Document and execute acceptance criteria
  • Create Process Map Visio Diagrams and workflows
  • Work with TSQL, SQL and Office Tools to create business requested data / reports
  • Write automated unit, integration, and mock tests/reports
  • Build and foster strategic partnerships with stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain strong communication with both business and technical teams
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Company standard development tools, programming languages, system design concepts, and analysis techniques
  • Participate in Agile-based meetings, release planning and management activities

  • Provides support to staff and vendors as projects move from design and planning to operational status
  • Creates extracts and interfaces, including transformation and load functions using existing databases and systems
  • Provides analysis and programming support for systems of moderate to high complexity affecting multiple departments or entities
  • Supports IT Governance workflow, provides technical and analytical support in the evaluation of new financial or enterprise systems software products, and participates in the development and maintenance of key performance indicators and data definitions as a means for improving customer and financial performance and outcomes
  • Provides ongoing and regular reviews of incidents, requests, and tasks to ensure high customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Possesses the ability to successfully identify, classify, prioritize and resolve issues
  • Is self-critical and wants to continually learn from others

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Finance and Accounting reports/analysis
  • Agile methodology experience preferred
  • Experience writing automated tests/reports/queries/requirements/workflows
  • Possess strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
  • Proven ability to read and write software development – min. 2 yrs. development experience
  • Ability to successfully communicate with customers, peers and management
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement including but not limited to workflow/system improvements
  • Think creatively to solve problems
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience, Certifications a plus but not required
  • 2 years’ minimum development/coding experience
  • Strong analytical and detail oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
  • Experience with Finance and Accounting reports and analysis
  • Experience with developing Web applications in ASP .NET, C#, .NET 4.5, Java
  • Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of database concepts, error log analysis, and code performance analysis
  • A friendly, professional demeanor and ability to excel in a team oriented environment
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • In depth knowledge of SQL
  • Highly Client/Customer service oriented
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change with a mindset for continuous improvement
