Who is Serent Capital?

Serent Capital is a private investment group headquartered in California. Serent invests in high-growth, profitable technology and service businesses with unique business models and strong management teams. The principals at Serent have experience as CEOs, strategic advisors, and board members in successful, growing businesses.

Will this have an affect on my account, orders, or data?

No.  Your orders and data are all there in Mercury Network, as usual.  This will not affect the ownership of your data or your orders.

What changes can Mercury Network users expect?

This will not affect your Mercury Network services.  As a matter of fact, great things are coming your way, including:

  • Even faster development of the tools and integrations you need for success, easy compliance and efficiency
  • A greater range of products and services to help you make the best collateral risk decisions
  • A full staff of industry veterans strategically located in major financial centers across the U.S., so you have local expert guidance on compliance and efficiency solutions

Have the phone numbers, websites or any contact methods changed?

Our phone numbers remain the same and are listed below.  The fastest way to contact us about a specific order or questions about your account is to log in and choose “Contact Support” or “Get Help” inside Mercury Network.

Have your email addresses changed?

Yes, but our old email addresses will still work for a limited time.  All Mercury Network team members have a new email address that ends in “@MercuryVMP.com” rather than the older addresses ending in “@alamode.com.”  Please update your records if necessary.

Will Mercury Network move to California?

No.  Mercury Network’s headquarters will remain in Oklahoma City, OK.

Will this affect any future features?

Yes, in a good way.  Our development cycle has accelerated dramatically, and we’re now releasing updates at double our old speed.  We were already releasing far more often than other platforms, and this will further widen the gap.  You can expect:

  • Even faster development of the tools and integrations you need for success, easy compliance and efficiency
  • A greater range of products and services to help you make the best collateral risk decisions
  • A full staff of industry veterans strategically located in major financial centers across the U.S., so you have local expert guidance on compliance and efficiency solutions

Is the Mercury Network team still the same?

Yes. Jennifer Miller will continue serving as President, and our entire team will remain focused solely on delivering excellent service and best-in-class software for our clients while helping create jobs, new opportunities and growth for our company.

Is Mercury Network still a part of a la mode, inc.?

No. Mercury Network is an independent entity from a la mode, as Serent Capital has purchased 100% of Mercury Network from a la mode. Mercury Network is located in separate facilities, with no overlap of staff or other resources. Mercury Network will focus on providing technology solutions for lenders and AMCs, and continue to innovate with our customers in mind. Our relationship with a la mode will continue to remain close and strong as a critical ecosystem partner for our customers and a portal for appraisers. We are excited for the future of both companies working together.

Is my data still stored in the same location?

We’ve relocated all Mercury Network servers to a new location with the same security and redundancies we’ve had in place for years.  For more information, contact info@MercuryVMP.com.

What does this mean for appraisers?

Appraisers will be largely unaffected by the change, as Mercury Network has operated as a division inside a la mode for a few years. Mercury Network lifted all software requirements for appraisers several years ago, and has no software requirements for appraisers to accept and manage orders on the platform so that our clients could do business with any appraisers they chose.  In addition, Mercury Network maintains its own portal for appraisers to use for the management of all Mercury Network orders at http://vendors.mercuryvmp.com.

There are critical software integrations between Mercury Network and a la mode’s appraisal formfilling software packages TOTAL and WinTOTAL, and those will continue to be supported by a la mode or Mercury Network.

For appraisers with software questions, when should they call a la mode and when should they call Mercury Network?

If appraisers have questions about anything in Mercury Desktop or their formfilling software, they can contact a la mode.  Through the end of 2015, a la mode will still support the Mercury Network and DataCourier delivery plugins and help appraisers if they have any questions during this transition.  At that time, Mercury Network will take over all support of the Mercury Network and DataCourier plugins.  If appraisers have any questions related to the Mercury Network vendors’ portal (http://vendors.mercuryvmp.com) or Mercury Mobile, they should contact Mercury Network at 1-800-900-4954. 

Will this cause changes to appraisers’ delivery plugins to Mercury Network?

No. The Mercury Network delivery plugin and DataCourier delivery plugin inside a la mode’s formfilling software is developed and maintained by Mercury Network, but a la mode is stepping in to help ease this transition for appraisers, and will support them with any questions they might have through the end of 2015. At that time, Mercury Network will take over all support of the Mercury Network and DataCourier plugins.  The Mercury Desktop application is now owned and supported by a la mode, inc. and they have more information on all the delivery plugins they support here.

Will this have any impact on appraisers’ a la mode subscription services?

How should appraisers manage their Mercury Network orders going forward?

Use the vendors’ portal to accept, decline, or negotiate your new orders. Once you’ve accepted the order, it will automatically flow to a la mode’s Mercury Desktop product.
